Welcome to How To Train A Dog Easy. It is our hope that you will find whatever it is you are looking for here at this website.
When it comes to training a dog there are 3 very important things that you will have to do or have if you would like to have any type of success whatsoever. It doesn’t matter if it is just the basics that you want to teach your dog or if you want him to be the best trained dog on the block.
Patience, commitment and a plan. The plan can come from a few good books (paperback or digital), some DVD’s, dog training classes or some one on one lessons from somebody that knows what they are doing.
Learning how to train a dog is the easy part. The hardest part of training a dog is being committed, making the time to do even 5 minutes of training everyday.
Patience is also a very important part of teaching your dog to do the things that you want him/her to do. Believe me, you are going to need patience. It is harder for some dogs and puppies to get the hang of things but if you stay persistant and consistant they will eventually get things figured out.
I have numerous books, DVD’s and VHS tapes. I have been (and still go) to dog training classes and private lessons. I am always trying to improve my skills.
I think that you need to stop procrastinating, get yourself a plan right now and start training your dog.
If you get a chance before you leave, go over to our Schutzhund Obedience Training page (click here) and watch Samantha Jimenez, who is only 7 years old, performing her unforgetable obedience routine with Hesy Naspo at the 2010 Working Dog Championships.
Time permitting, there are a few more things you may want to check out, the “Dog Training Resources” in the sidebar, the ever expanding list of helpful articles that cover such topics as dog health, herding, puppy training, dog careers and the list just continues to grow and last but not least scroll on down and sign up for the Secrets to Dog Training 6 Day Dog Behavior and Training course ($27 value), I think you will really enjoy it.

I’m truly into dog training. I’ve observed numerous distinctive web sites about dog training that expose the best dog training techniques, methods and dog training approaches. It really is genuinely great to discover which methods are best for how to train a dog.
You are so right Caleb
Caleb…If you’re looking for a really great method you want to stick with positive reinforcement. We’ve found that it’s results are by far the most effective for anything you’re looking to accomplish.
I agree Jason, positive reinforcement is the best method and will produce the best results.
I love the title of your book How To Train Your Dog It Really Is Easy. Quite catchy. I also enjoyed your how to become a dog trainer article you have given me much to think about. I think that I might like learning how to train dogs for a living. I am off to read the review of your book. I am sure I will end up buying it. Thanks again for the info. Have a great day.
You are welcome Todd.
I just finished reading this how to train a dog book and I must say that I really enjoyed it. Liked how you (or whoever) used pictures and did not fill it with any fluff like a lot of the dog training books that are on the market today. Anyway, just thought that I would stop by and say thanks. I am thinking about checking out the dog breeding book as well. If I am going to have a few dogs around they just as well be making some money.
Thanks Doug, glad that you liked it. The dog that is used in this book is just great. Both of her parents are highly skilled obedience and protection dogs. She had a brother that was on the police force but was unfortunately killed in the line of duty. Don’t forget to tell your friends about “How To Train A Dog _ It Really Is Easy”
Nice, I bookmarked this page on Digg under “How To Train A Dog”. So hopefully our friends can give you a visit. Thanks.
Thanks for the Digg.
Training your dog can be pretty tough. I know that sounds obvious,, but if you want a “happy dog”, and a “happy family”,, you will either have to do it yourself, or you are going to have to pay someone else to do it. If you would really like to find out how to train a dog, and you don’t want to spend a fortune, check out the book. It just covers the basics but that should be enough to get a guy started..
Hi Jinger, thanks for stopping by. For anybody that is interested in learning how to make money online search the name Jinger Jarret on the internet. She is full of knowledge.
Can I simply say what a relief it is to find someone who truly knows what theyre talking about. You know how to deliver information and I thank you for that. I am going to get that book and start training my dog.
Whether you get that dog training book, a different book, some DVD’s or if you go to some dog training classes, as long as you do some type of training with your dog you will never regret it.
I see where the author of How To Train A Dog It Really Is Easy has come out with a puppy training book. I also went to the website where they are giving away the free dog training books. That is pretty nice of them. They seem to know there stuff.
Yes, the author has been training puppies and dogs for a number of years. For those who have not gotten the how to train your dog book that contains a link to the website with the free dog training books (they are not all about training. There are some about dog separation, dog food and even one about making your own dog treats) here it is http://pruittsyorkiepuppiesforsale.com/ There are actually two pages of free books.
Kind of making the rounds on your site here. First the dog aggression page, then the schutzhund obedience page (which happens to be cooler then anything and now your how to train a dog page. I am pretty pumped up right now. Great site.
Yes, the schutzhund obedience training page is a good one. I have watched the video numerous times. Thanks for the complement.
Nice site. I have many dog training books and DVD’s. I am of the opinion that you can never learn enough. I will probably have to get this book also. Who knows, maybe someday I can write my own how to train a dog book.
We have some things in common then Kenny beacuse I have a bunch of dog training books and DVD’s myself. I just eat that stuff up. You should write a how to train a dog book someday (if you really want to that is). Good luck and “GO GETTUM”.
The video review of the book is pretty good. I read the book and it seems to be pretty spot on. I have a dog training website myself and may have to try something like that sometime.
Hey Dave, thanks for stopping by and for the compliment. Wishing you the best with your dog website.
Cudos on your dog training resources links. Checked out Canine Training Systems and it appears that they have some pretty good training material. Working Dog Cyberzone looks good to. So much information. Thanks again.
Glad you liked the resources links. They really do offer some good stuff. I’ll tell you another place that has not only a wealth of information but some quality dog training tools as well and that is Leerburg (http://leerburg.com/) Check it out sometime.
Hi There Howtotrainadogeasy,
Something that I have noticed when it comes to house training dogs is people have to learn how to control their temper! People that have a short fuse are in danger of not (or maybe never) achieving the training goals with their dog/pup. Nice site. Love the resource links. This website rocks!!
I agree with you Asus. Keeping a positive attitude and controlling ones temper is a must when it comes to training a dog or pup. Thanks for stopping by and for the compliment.
Nice dog site that you have put together here. You have just gained a new reader/follower. The girl and her dog in the video are fantastic. I need to teach my dog to do stuff like that.
Thanks Florence. The video of Samantha Jimenez and Hesy is very good. Glad you liked it.
I checked out Ivan Balabnov and I must say that he appears to know what he is doing when it comes to training dogs. I did a search on him also and found a video of him walking on the the street with his dog and then having him sit/stay outside a store while he went in and got something to drink. I really need to start training my dog.
Thanks Davee, Iwill have to try and find the video that you mentioned of Ivan and his dog. He does know his stuff.
Great book! I loved how it gets right to the point. It is nice getting some how to train a dog advice without having to sift through the fluff.
Glad you liked the book. If I didn’t think it was pretty good I wouldn’t have it on this website. I also think that it is way under priced but that is just my opinion.
Just wanted to say hi and compliment you on your website. Nicely done. I’ll be upfront with you here, I have a dog site myself. It focuses more on a dogs diet. Have a great day and I hope you keep adding fresh new articles every once and awhile because I will be coming back.
I see you mention Leerburg. Whenever I need a new leash or collar I order it from them. I have also gotten a few schutzhand championship tapes. Great place.
Leerburg has a lot of quality stuff.
It appears the dog training advice in the book being promoted on this site is for the beginner. Does it offer any tips for competitive dogs. My dog already knows the basics but am thinking about competing in obedience at some dog shows. Thanks.
As far as obedience goes, this book just covers the basics. If you are serious about going to some obedience trials then you should look into the local kennel club or there may be someone in your area that offers group or individual lessons. Hope that helps.
I love this blog. The dog in your header looks like he has had some training. He is pretty cool looking.
Thanks Denice
I just love dogs. I guess if you want to get right down to it I love all animals. Another thin I love is this website. Pretty cool. How did you come up with the name how to train a dog easy? It’s pretty catchy.
I agree with you Samantha, I love all animals to. As for the name of the website, it just came to me. I love working with dogs and have done it for so long that it comes pretty easy to me. It is just like anything though, if you love what you do it will seem pretty easy.
It is my opinion that having a dog in your life is going to provide you with allot of joy and happiness. They make the most wonderful companions and if they are trained, well there is nothing better. You can learn for free watching videos.
I agree Yacine, dogs are great.
I looked at some of the links in the dog training resources section. Canine training systems looks like they have an awful lot of stuff. I like watching obedience trials so it looks like I may be getting a few of the videos that the have to offer. I also saw a video of Ivan Balabanov and it looks like he really knows how to train a dog. I may have to get his DVD as well. I also donated a little money to your website, hope you don’t mind.
If you enjoy watching dog compitions then canine training systems is the place to go. That being said Leerburg also has some good dog competition videos. Yes, Ivan is very handy and a person can learn an awful lot from him.
I just can’t believe how lucky I was to find this dog site. To be honest with you, I’m not real sure what it is that I like so much about it. Could be the 3 important things that everybody needs to have or do in order to train their dog. There is no doubt about it, you have answered my questions for how to train a dog with those 3 important things. Thanks
Thanks Nicky, I really believe that those 3 things are crucial and all anybody needs to train their dog.
Nice dog training site you have here. I agree with sour thoughts on the three main things that you need if you really want to teach your dog something.
Thanks for the compliment Wafe. Come back again sometime.
Been taking some dog training classes lately and would reccomend them to anybody.
I think dog training classes are a great idea myself.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge about dogs. Not many people with your kind of wisdom take the time share these days. They just don’t feel like they can spare the time. Your website is very professional and whenever I need some dog advice I will be back. This website has already helped me more than you will know. Thank you.
My Bolg : DepressionSymptomsMedication.com
Wow Caitlyn, thanks. Your compliment means allot to us.
Thanks for you three important dog training tips. I need to get all three of them. I have trying to learn how to train a dog for quite sometime and you have finally given me a clear answer.
You are more than welcome Tabis. Glad we could help.
Being consistent in your training is very important wouldn’t you agree?
I do agree Fabian, consistency is important.
I agree that training a dog requires an awful lot of patience. You should also never have any training sessions when you are drugged, drunk, or in a bad mood.
Never quite seen it put that way Ra Daniel but yes, you should not do any training if you are in a bad mood or have had a bad day. Sometimes it is just way to easy to take it out on your dog.
In my opinion the most helpful information on this page is this “stop procrastinating, get yourself a plan right now and start training your dog”. I have been thinking about training my dog for quite sometime but keep putting it off. Thanks for the kick in the pants.
Glad we could help. Six months from now you will be so happy that you made this decision.
Hi I am so happy that I happened upon your site in my search for how to train a dog. I know that I need to do something with her but keep putting it off. I guess it is just a lack of knowledge that is keeping me from moving forward.
Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Just get yourself a plan (guide, book or training classes) and get started. It’s allot of fun.
Kind of looking for a quick guide for dog training behavior training that applies to all breeds of dogs.
The book How To Train A Dog – It Really Is Easy teaches you the basics and does discuss a little bit about fixing some dog behavior problems. As far as dog behavior training goes, if you feel the problem is getting pretty bad, we recommend that people seek either some training classes or some one on one help from someone who knows how to deal with whatever particular problem a person happens to be dealing with.
I really like the design of this dog training website. Looks pretty cool.
Thank you very much Cyndi.
I came here for some advice about how to train my dog and what you said about the 3 very important things a person needs to have success makes allot of sense. Thanks
Glad we could help Danny. There isn’t anything better than a well trained dog (one that at least knows the basics is pretty good to).
Upon your recommendation I got the Obedience Without Conflict training video with Ivan Balabanov. It is really good. Thanks
That is good to hear Tommy. That training series is a good investment.
Really like the theme that you are using here. I am going to start my own dog training blog so have been looking around at a few different websites. This is one of the better ones.
Thanks for the compliment Tyron.
